Hi guys! I'm so happy to have you all here and id love to tell you about myself so im not some rando on the internet.
My name is Maya and I started the rural stitch because I was sick and tired of trying to buy myself merch and it all looked like... well, not my style. I started to crochet in 2019 and my first project was a stuffed frog and I thought it was AMAZING. I have learned a lot since then especially that I hate patterns of any kind because I am awful at following directions.
I am currently in my senior year of high school and it's killing me but I am really looking forward to pursuing this business. I am currently in an EMT class as well as a CNA class. I am part of the international baccalaureate program (IB) and it is brutal to be honest. After high school I plan to go to Guatemala and Ghana to volunteer for a while and then go to Europe and see where the wind takes me. That is another part of me wanting to start this business is because I would love to apply for a digital nomad visa and be able to afford to travel and actually live instead of being stuck in college or work.
I have the most amazing dog named peanut and I love him a lot. I also have a 10 year old little brother who is the light of my life, he is hilarious, and weird, and just overall a good kid. I love the stars, nature, the planets, and just life in general. I think we as a collective society don't honor our world as much as we should. I am also a published Author! My book is called Complexities and dualities by me of course. It's a poetry book, filled with some deep dark thoughts. My favorite authors are Edgar Allen Poe and H.P. Lovecraft and I have everyone of their stories and poems.
When I am able to get my own place hopefully with help from you guys I really want to get a long dog. Im not sure what type like a borzoi, a silken wind hound, a dachshund. I don't know, but wherever in the world I end up I'm so excited to give you guys products you will actually enjoy :)
